Sony vegas so i guess your a windows guy? If windows then use DNxHD codec instead of ProRes.
Google and install the DNxHD codec from Avid. (or is it supported these days by vegas.. Not sure didn't touche vegas for years anymore..)
Go record something and just trow it on the project in vegas.. Vegas will probably ask you if you want to adapt your project to the content propperties.
