Resolve 12.5 has relatively poor decoding performance for H.264, which shows up especially in UHD 60fps files. Transcode the file into a different format, or try using the Resolve 14 beta, which some people have said worked better for their drone footage. Resolve 14 Studio includes GPU accelerated H.264 decoding for new enough NVidia graphics cards, which you have.

i had 14 and it worked fine for a while but, recently it was choppy too. Maybe the 14 beta version has been updated recently? I did convert it to 1080 and edited it on 14. It work! Looks like i lost the 4k, how do I get it back to 4k? Is there an option to render it back to 4k? I did not see it. I used the trial version of pavtube to convert it to 1080.

Toy need to use the resolve proxy setting to generate yiur 1080 from your 4k footage. That lets you edit with the proxy 1080 but render back in 4k. If you downgrade the footage outside of resolve then it will just treat the footage like 1080. Check your project settings to configure the proxy resolution.

You need the Studio version for much better performance as you will get hardware acceleration with your NVIDIA card.
