Does Decklink 4k mini monitor support DCI P3 color space

PostMon Aug 14, 2017 4:07 pm

Hi,

Does Decklink 4k mini monitor support DCI P3 color space? In specs page it says Rec 601 & 709 are supported.

Can this card be used for theatrical screening projects?

Thanks

Card will pass what you feed it with, so if you feed P3 data it will pass it.
You simply play out of Resolve etc. P3 graded master, set projector to P3 and done.

It will even do 12bit 4:4:4:
"8, 10, 12-bit RGB 4:4:4 in all modes up to 1080p60, and 8, 10-bit YUV 4:2:2 in all modes."

not sure about 2K DCI, but I think it will also do it as RGB 12bit.
So if you just feed 2K, your source is e.g. 16bit TIFF or 12bit DPX sequence or ProResXQ you will actually get better quality than DCI master. 4K will be passed as 10bit 4:2:2.
