AVI recovery from power failure

Good morning,
I am using a Decklink Mini Recorder to capture an SDI stream to disk and recently suffered a power loss during recording, leaving me with a 27.7GB AVI file that wouldn't open in Windows Media Player. I managed to recover ~39min of video from the file using VLC player, however the recovered video ends about 30 minutes before the power failure. I have another file, recorded at the same settings, that was 27.5GB and contained ~75min of video, so I suspect the missing 30min of video may be in the file but VLC just didn't recover it. Does anyone have suggestions for how I might be able to recover any additional parts of this video?
Thanks,
Reed

Try VirtualDub:
http://virtualdub.sourceforge.net

just load file and let it reconstruct missing index.

Andrew,
Thanks for the response. While VirtualDub didn't like the original file, I managed to recover the file in its entirety (108min vs. 39min) by copying the header from a working file recorded around the same time with the same settings and pasting it into the corrupt file. Then VirtualDub was able to re-index the video and all works now.
Thanks for the help!
Reed

Cool, even bit surprised that at the end you managed to recover whole thing.
