Can you monitor 5.1 Dolby Surround with UltraStudio 4k TB2

Is there a way I could monitor 5.1 Dolby using the HDMI output from the UltraStudio 4k Thunderbolt 2 and FCPX? Right now, I have my UltraStudio HDMI running thought my 5.1 Dolby Yamaha amp. It works great for video pass through, but I can't seem to get sound. The Yamaha amp has (HDCP2.2) HDMI in and out ins and outs. If the audio file is also embedded with video through HDMI, I would think this should work. Any thoughts?

You can't send Dolby Digital track, but you can send 5.1 as 6 x PCM channels over HDMI.
It should work- only issue can be channels order.
If you create e.g. 24p ProRes file with 6 channels and play it from MediaExpress then audio should be passed to HDMI and your amp. It may not necessarily be 1:1 mapping between file and HDMI, but audio should be passed.
