No Audio in Recording

I am new to the device. I purchased a Intensity USB 3 device to convert my old videos.

Computer:
Windows 10
Surface Pro i5 (2017)
Installed QuickTime Player 7.7.9

Activity:
I connect the old camcorder to the device
I see the audio being captured in the screen by seeing the audio levels in red and fluctuating
I see the video being played
I capture the recording

Issue:
When I play the recording in Apple time, I see the video, but do not have any audio.

Question:
Are there any codec requirements needed to play the sound?

Thank you

Thank you for the reply, sorry for the delay.

I figured out how to play the videos with audio, I needed to us VLC Media Player. Do you know how I can export the video to a standard Windows 10 media player format?

Thank you again.

Mike

You can convert it with Handbrake or similar software to h264, which will play on just about everything.
