As a customer of Blackmagicdesign products I see that you are always creating versatile hard- and software which fits the demands of many clients in the film business.
I would like to share with you my idea of improving the Video Assist 4K even more.
When I work with it I have a great field monitor, a recorder and even a signal converter.
And I see two XLR-Inputs with the possibility of phantom power, good sounding Preamps and headphone jacks.
And here is the point. Wouldn´t it be great to give the machine a (software)upgrade which allows the users to use it as a two-channel audio field recoder? A very comfortable field recoder with touchscreen, low-cut-filter, limiter, ... which exports broadcast wave files (not embedded in a video stream).
So it can be used as a stand-alone audio-recorder if needed.
Here is a rough illustration
I think that would be an interesting Ad-On which would make the device even more versatile.
