Avid support confirmed this bug and asked me to forward it to BMD as they claim it's your responsibility to fix.
When you switch video layers in Media Composer, the output of the BMD box (in our case, Intensity Shuttle Thunderbolt and Ultrastudio Express) will not update properly. It will show the old layer. You can move one frame forward or back and it will update properly.
I've confirmed that this happens with BMD driver 10.9.4, 10.9.5 or 10.9.10 with Media Composer 8.9 or 8.10 (Those drivers don't exhibit this behavior with Media Composer 8.5.3). BMD driver 10.8.5 fixes the issue with Media Composer 8.9 and 8.10. Please confirm and see if you can fix in the next driver release. Thanks.
