Strange interference when using Composite in on Ultrastudio

Hi all,

I'm experiencing a strange interference pattern when using the composite in on my Ultrastudio Express. I'm running macOS 10.12.6 on a Macbook Pro, with Desktop Video 10.9.10. The interference only appears when using composite in, the SDI in looks fine. The interference is subtle, but definitely there. I have tried different cables, different computers, different video sources, but the interference remains.

Here is a link to two videos, one captured SDI and one captured Composite. The source is the same: SMPTE Bars from the pattern generator of a DPS-575 Frame Sync (professional grade equipment).

What is going on here?

This looks like a long-standing bug - see topic viewtopic.php?f=18&t=53516&p=310179

Probably best to use an external ADC and then feed SDI.
