Do you have questions about Desktop Video, Converters, Routers and Monitoring?

UltraStudio HD Mini: no video output with High Sierra

PostWed Jan 31, 2018 3:00 pm

I connected my UltraStudio HD Mini to an iMac Pro with High Sierra through a Thunderbolt 3 cable, just to have an output signal to an SDI and an HDMI monitor when I work in Adobe Premiere and AE.
The ON light on the Ultrastudio is on and the System Info confirms that the Thunderbolt connection sees the Ultrastudio but the problem is that the Blackmagic Desktop Video application says "No Desktop Video Device Detected".
Obviously my monitors are pitch black.

Is there a workaround or a newer software driver ? Anybody experiencing this issue ?

Thank you
Michele

So what version of Desktop Video are you running at the moment?
Also High Sierra tends to have issues with security settings preventing you from running it..

Thank you Daniel, I installed the new drivers and had to "unlock" the application in the System Preferences, that was the trick. Now it works perfectly
