Mac Mini + Media Express + DNxHD + Mini Monitor

We want to simplify the screening of DNxHD (usually 120/185x) masters in a meeting room on a LG HDMI TV.
The idea is use a Mac Mini with an Ultrastudio Mini Monitor and Media Express.
I'm able to play 185x on a Macbook Air here, but I've googled around and the only references to Ultrastudio and DNxHD I can find say DNxHD works with Ultrastudio 4K and specifically that Media Express doesn't do DNxHD.
I'd just like to know if Mac Mini + Media Express + DNxHD + Mini Monitor is a weird combination. Is it?
