Switching between Media Composer and After Effects

PostFri Feb 23, 2018 5:01 pm

I just installed an Ultrastudio Mini Monitor on my new macbook. I installed the latest software I could find on the blackmagic website: 10.9.11

Avid Media Composer is sending through a video signal just fine.

Adobe After Effects (& Premiere, Photoshop) are not sending an output. My Mercury Transmit settings are set to the Blackmagic Ultrastudio Mini for output.

Perhaps Avid Media Composer is controlling the mercury transmit and not releasing it to Adobe? Media Composer and After Effects are not running at the same time.

Probably unrelated, but I'm also having trouble with the audio dropping out occasionally during playback from Avid Media Composer. There's an HDMI splitter in the line, so it's possible the problem is related to that piece of hardware, but I've had so many setup difficulties with the blackmagic ultrastudio that I'm ready to blame it for all my problems.

Yes, you nee both apps to support releasing hardware when not in "focus". Not all do so.
