Micro Converter SDI to HDMI trouble

PostMon Apr 02, 2018 8:47 pm

Hi there.

I purchased a Micro Converter SDI to HDMI to loop the video out of my Flanders BM210 to my LG 50" Plasma (client monitor). Not sure what the problem is, as I expected it to be pretty simple plug and play.

Custom Built PC with a Blackmagic Intensity Pro 4k; HDMI out of that into my Flanders via DVI with converter, SDI1 out to the MicroConverter using a HDMI cable to the TV and the USB power is connected in via an outlet. The light is on.

Is there something I am missing? Is there some setting on my monitor that I need to enable?

Or is the Micro Converter not suitable for this?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Is the light on the converter steady or blinking?

I had some issues with the USB cable, some micro USB cables are not suited to deliver proper voltage to the unit.

Best way to check it is to plug the Micro Converter in your computer and use the Blackmagic Converter Set up utility to make sure it's seeing the unit and everything is working properly.

Other than that, I don't know the FSI monitors, but do make sure that it can actually output SDI from an HDMI input signal, it might not be able to.

A fixed frequency blinking of the SDI led of the micro converter SDI > HDMI indicates that there is an issue on the HDMI side. Issue can be seen like Cable, EDID, no propper response etc etc..

If your power led starts acting up blinking you have a power issue..

Recoomend you to plug the HDMI into a normal TV screen and see if this works.

Also keep in mind the Micro is only 1080P maximum.. You feed it with a Decklink 4K.. So everything over 1080P will not work either.
