Aloha all,
Curious if you can shed some light on this.... We have a teranex system setup to send an SDI source from one building to another over a fiber connection(there are a number of hops) but essentially it is from building to building, it does pass through a couple of switches....
the teranex connections tend to drop their feed/sync about every 45 minutes or so, which results in no/black video during that time....we use these as a direct link for broadcast, and 45-90 seconds of black is not going to work....
I have read that PTP needs to be implemented across the switches so that the teranex has something other than itself to sync to and that this could fix this issue..... I'm wondering if someone can shed some light on this, and if maybe, because of our network configuration, the teranex just might not be the best bet for us....
