True 4K Output on Blackmagic Ultrastudio 4K

PostThu May 03, 2018 7:17 am

This is hopefully a very basic question.

I have just purchased a Blackmagic Ultrastudio 4K box and I want to output 4K onto my screen, I use Avid Media Composer and I have set the project up as 4K. My deckline software says 4K, but when the image comes up on our broadcast monitor, it states that it is 2K framesize.

I have connected it via thunderbolt and then SDI directly to the monitor. Do I need 2 x SDI cables as it is 4k image?

Thanks in advance

I have successfully gotten 3840x2160 (UHD) out of the UltraStudio 4K with no problem to a consumer display. What is the resolution of your broadcast monitor?

Try to connect it via HDMI if your monitor has this as an entry option and see, if it's UHD.
