Cheap 4K 10bit output?

PostFri May 04, 2018 6:16 pm

Hi All,

I'm looking to add a 4K monitor to my editing setup, the panel I have in mind is 10bit, however 8bit + FRC (= no real 10 bit).

Right now I have a GTX 980 but I believe it does not output 10bit, I read this is reserved for the quadro cards.

So I was wondering if it was a good idea to find the cheapest used quadro that supports 4K and use this for monitoring.

Or are there any other suggestions? Does 8bit+FRC even need a quadro since the colors are interpolated...

Cheers!
Karel.

Please use search- has been discussed many time here.
Quadro is not a solution- for Resolve you wan't BM card for proper monitoring. Resolve GUI preview can be 10bit, but only on Mac and still not validated for color accuracy.
