Computer build

PostTue Jun 05, 2018 2:29 pm

I am building a PC to handle up to 4 K raw files, Resolve 15 and fusion 9 software Windows 10 Pro operating system.

MSI 299SLI Plus ATX LGA 2066 mother Board
Intel i9 14 core
Kingston Hypery X Fury 64 Gb ram (4 X 16 board has 8 slots can upgrade to 128 ram later)
MSI GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11GB Armor video card ( question one or two )
Samsung 860 EVO 1 TB SSD for programs and operating system
Segate Barracuda Pro 10TB 3.5 7200rpm internal for working media storage

Anyone have any experience with a system like this? Thoughts or positive input desired, hope to hear from some of my fellow BMC users.

For 4K you will want a second 1080 Ti if you are using any GPU effects (TNR etc). I think you'll want faster media storage than one 7200rpm drive, too.
Ryzen 5800X3D
32GB DDR4-3600
RTX 3090
DeckLink 4K Extreme 12G
Resolve Studio 17.4.1
Windows 11 Pro 21H2

Thanks for the info on second GPU. I have space to add SSD drives if I need faster storage, I am hoping this is a good starting point.

thank You for your thoughts.
