Yes, I use a calibrated IPS Computer monitor as a Rec.709 Reference where we see a 10bit RGB 4:4:4 display. This HD monitor is driven from a 12G Decklink card via an SDI to Display Port converter but it is a Computer monitor, not a proper Video monitor.
If I was offered for example, an 8bit HD, FSI AM210 SDI 'Video' monitor for the same price as a 10bit 4K 'Computer' Monitor, I would chose the 8bit FSI every time. Depending on your client base, correct calibration can be far more important than 8bit vs 10bit.
Worth noting too that a correctly calibrated HD Video monitor can still be used to Grade 4K material as several 12G Decklink options have on-board hardware 4K > HD down-converters.
