sky generating

Hi,

I'm looking to generate a complete day of skies that evolve and are animated, is there a relatively easy to use piece of software to do this in the shape of a plugin or standalone? I've seen some bits of Vue but it's difficult to get an idea if that will work for me.

thanks!

You will be probably better buying stock footage.

thanks for the tip but stock footage is not really an option for me, the length I need is far too long

The first link I posted is for high-res still images of skies, and I've used them many times for sky replacement. Ideally, you'd add some grain or mist or something to it in order to "take the curse" off the composite, but I've had :30 second or :40 seconds shots and gotten away with it. Tracking it is the real problem, and that does take some time.

I use Fusion. Basically you grab a high res still that you like, you add a GridWarp with only 2 handles at the top corners, you stretch out the top and animate it from left to right or right to left as needed by how you want the clouds to move. Add a bit of grain and you're done. Instant realistic sky footage at whatever length you need!
