I've just gotten off the phone with a customer service representative. To make a long story short, I called the company (long distance!), and was told to install the software on ANOTHER computer and see if it works. You'll know if it is working properly when you access "System Preferences" --- "Blackmagic Design". From here, if your device is listed at the top of the dialogue box, and you can set preferences, the device is working properly. If it says "No Settings Required," as mine does, you have a faulty product. I'm hoping the exchange procedure is a speedy one. If anyone finds another suitable solution, PLEASE let me know!
