BRAW Rendering Issues: Intermittent FPS and Crashing

PostTue Oct 23, 2018 5:01 pm

So I'm having some issues with transcoding BRAW. Footage is from Ursa Mini Pro at 3072x2560 (2x anamorphic) and I'm rendering to DNxHR. With DNxHR 444 12bit, resolve will render a few frames, and then hang at 0 for a while, then render a few more and repeat.
Task manager shows a corresponding spike in CPU and GPU usage, aka using no resources when Resolve is stuck at 0 FPS. Rendering to DNxHR HQX 12bit speeds this up considerably to a relatively acceptable render speed, but there's still the same issue happening. Just not as bad.

(Rendering to DNxHR HQX 12bit. 444 is around three spikes per page).

Resolve also crashes at seemingly random places. It just quits completely and I have to re open and find where it stopped and continue from there. My guess is that these two issues are related.

I can render from Alexa Mini ProRes 4444 to either DNxHR variant at a constant FPS with no crashes no problem. Drive speed is not an issue, as everything plays back fine.

I'm on Windows 10, Resolve 15.1.2.
Geforce GTX 1060 6GB
32GB RAM
i7 6700K 4.0Ghz.

Would greatly appreciate any help with this!
