Cannot connect Videohub Hardware Panel Setup via USB

Scope: I want to change the panel network parameters.

As far as I know/remember, setting up the IP (& DHCP/Static choice, S_Mask etc.) for a hardware control panel should be done via its Mini USB port. Is my assumption/memory right ?

If right (?), I am not able to make it work. The Videohub hardware panel setup UI opens, but nothing lights up there. When inserting the USB connector, the computer's audio makes the usual "blip" when inserting USB devices, but that's it.

I installed version 6.4.1, but also 6.3.4 and then 6.3.1 – no difference.
I tried on two different computers with Windows 8.1 and one with Windows 7, all 64bit – no difference.
I tried with few different Videohub Smart Control panels but also one Videohub Master Control panel – no difference.

No, wrong: with 6.3.1 *and after computer restart*, it works. Then I reinstalled 6.4.1 (over 6.3.1) and again it didn't worked. Then I uninstalled 6.4.1, reinstalled 6.3.1, restarted computer, now it works again – all this on Windows 8.1 64bit.



(I can live with 6.3.1, hopefully it will not ask for some firmware change – until now it didn't; however, what's the mystery ?)

Had the same thing few weeks back..

I worked with the latest version.
The trick is:
0- Close software if opened.
1- Plug in panel. (See hardware panel in windows to see it show up)
2- Unplug panel.
3- Re-plug panel. Let it settle for a few seconds
4- Start software.
5- Change settings
6- Save and Close software
(If the software does not see the panel. Repeat one more time from step 2 with the software closed!!)

Yes tryed this on 3 different windows machines.. And on all got the same result..
When plugging the panel while software is open.. It seems not to find the panel at all..

Having same issue of USB setup not connecting on PC but does on Macbook-pro. Same Ver 6.4.x. Problem is all configurations stay on mac, and even if I copy folder to PC, can't open setup to upload.
Both my PC and Mac will control the videhub, just no setup possible on PC.

It's a pocket PC living in the Rack with an ATEM 1M/E and a videohub 16x32 (USB only)
Using remote desktop to control PC that is tied to videohub's usb.
Any idea why setup only works with the mac and not the PC? Already tried the plugging and unplugging sequence as well as hopping on one foot.
