Converter to old PVM-20M4E

PostWed Nov 21, 2018 3:23 pm

Hey!

I have an old video monitor that I intend to use as a reference monitor for color grade. I want to connect the monitor to my computer Mac Pro, I have Red Rocket graphics card with DVI-I, also has another 980ti graphics card with HDMI outputs. I also have a "Red One" camcorder that has SDI and HDMI outputs that I also want to be able to connect to the monitor.

On the back of the monitor is there SDI connector and it is perhaps the easiest way to use and which gives the best results? Thank you for the tips which converters I can use.

/Christer

this is only sd sdi not hd therefore it is highly unlikely that it will accept / pass any hd sdi signal!

I think it's a bad idea to use a monitor this old for color-correction in 2018.

Every normal flatscreen will give a better reference image then that old beast.. Sorry to say but these are only good for SNES Nintendo Gamecube etc.. ;)

If you want to select a decent screen that is affordable and quite good color balans control. Look at the office series from Dell.. U2312 are quite good.
