Hi, I have just got a brand new DeckLink Mini Monitor 4K and I am having a very odd issue.

Everything works fine, but I am getting unusual banding across the image

I am on a mac running OSX Mojave, outputting a 1080p, 10 bit, 25fps signal to an Ecinema Systems FX24.

The monitor is pretty old (2008 ish) but its a 10 bit monitor, with a 10-bit image processor and panel with an HD-SDI input.

- I have tried multiple different types of 10-bit footage in premier and Davinci Resolve but both display the same banding.

- The banding stays fixed to the image and moves with the image if you scale it up or down?

- I have also tried different SDI cables and they all produce the same effect.

- I don’t have another SDI monitor but over HDMI on the same panel, the effect doesn’t happen.

- Running 10.11.4 - Blackmagic desktop video software

Has anyone experienced this issue before?

Thanks,

David

If anyone else is having this issue I did manage to solve it.

It appears that the monitor had a screw loose and wasn't grounding the SDI connection properly so the image appeared with the banding no matter what you inputted.

I took the monitor apart cleaned up all grounding points for the PCB's, Cleaned up and all grounding screws and now everything works perfectly!
