Mini Monitor downscales 1080p50 to 720p50 with Media Compos

Hi All,

Just discovered that in a 1080p50 Media Composer 2018.9 project, the Blackmagic Mini Monitor device outputs 720p50 on the HDMI output. I found no way to force it to output 1080i50 instead.

I understand it will not support 1080p50, but why does it downconvert to 720p50 instead of 1080i50 ???
The connected monitor (TV set) accepts anything up to 1080p60 and 1080i50 projects output 1080i50 just fine.

Must be a problem in Avid, since I can output in Resolve just fine, both in 1080p25 or 1080i50.

Not that suprising.. The Mini Monitor and Mini Recorder do not support 1080P50/60

I can play from a timeline in DR with 1080p50 just fine, both to 1080p25 or 1080i50. The frame rate under "Playback" in the settings will be shown as 25 then.

BTW, with a 1080p/25 Media Composer (PC/Windows) project, I can choose between 1080p and 1080PsF for the SDI output, but I have no such choice for the HDMI output (and I see the output is then 1080i50, while I would hope to be able to have 1080p25 (or PsF); in Desktop video setup, the 'Default video standard' is set to 1080p25).
Is that by design or also a "Avid MC limitation" ?
