Ultra Studio Vs. DeckLink Duo

PostTue Dec 11, 2018 9:38 pm

I am designing a video capture system that will allow me to film multiple views (4) of a bowler making an approach. The purpose is to capture the views into separate files, then view them in my video analysis program.
I will have (4) 3G-SDI cameras routed to either a Decklink PCI card or the Ultra Studio, then to the computer via Thunderbolt. I want an easy way to capture a 3 to 4 second video on the PC from each camera, then open my program and view/analyze that video inside a third party software. The software is not an editing software, it simply allows you to analyze videos from a coaching perspective. I am currently asking the developer if they can interface with this set up...at the current time, they only interface with USB and GIGE cameras.

What. if any, would be the difference in this scenario between using a DeckLink duo card and Ultra Studio? Do I need the functionality and processing power that Ultra Studio offers me?

Thank you!
Dean
