UltraScope 1.8.4 fails to open

my machine running UltraScope has not had hardware updated since first started up in Feb 2008, has a coreduo 7600 CPU and GTS285 GPU

nor has it had a windoze update since then, it has never been on the internet since installing windoze7 nearly a decade ago

i normaly do a yearly re-start / update software at year end, it's currently running 1.8.3 for all of 2018

when i installed 1.8.4 it gave an error saying it could not connect to the hardware

the 1.8.4 install notes said it would install drivers and software, but the input card's driver was not updated

anyone have any thoughts on this?

the key here was reading that 1.8.4 is w8/10 only,

no support for w7 any longer, fair enough, and it was documented, i just didn't read far enough down the install notes

i may bump that machine up to w10 over the holidays, just to see a decades worth of windoze updates appear at once
