Help with Mini Monitor 4K 2160p vs 1080p woes

PostMon Dec 31, 2018 7:17 am

I've got a Decklink Mini Monitor 4k. When I send a 2160p UHD signal to my BenQ PV270 (a 2560x1440 display), Desktop Video Setup confirms it is sending 2160p 23.976 over HDMI. But the monitor says it's receiving 1080p -- and the image has lots of stair-stepping from the up-scaling. This is true whether I'm using DaVinci or Premiere.

To confirm the monitor was operating okay, I sent it a UHD feed from my GH5s and it properly recognized that it was 3840x2160, and it downscaled to the display's 2560x1440 beautifully.

So what is going on? Is the Decklink Mini Monitor 4K registering the monitor as being less than 4K and sending 1080p instead, regardless of what Desktop Video Setup says?

I found another thread on here where someone "wanted" the 4k to be received as 1080p so this was welcomed. but that's the only reference to this I could find on here. Any help or solutions out there?

Sorry to butt in, but I just posted pretty much exactly the same question here https://forum.blackmagicdesign.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=84144.

Different monitor, but same issue...hope someone can get us on the way toward our UHD monitoring goal.
Thought you might wanna know that you're not the only one experiencing this strange issue.

Happy New Year to you and everyone!
