Premiere Pro and Blackmagic Video Playback input delay

PostFri Jan 18, 2019 6:38 pm

Googling this has brought up threads going back to 2012, but no concrete solution in any of them. Contacting Adobe ends with "it's Blackmagic's fault". Contacting Blackmagic Design ends with "it's Adobe's fault." I was wondering if anybody else here has experienced the below issue and found a solution?

Using Premiere with a Blackmagic Design video IO device (Intensity Pro 4k and Avid Artist DNxID tested on my end), there is about a 5 frame input delay when playing back video. This is on two separate computers, specs for each at the bottom of this post. Disabling the IO device from Mercury Transmit removes the issue in Premiere. When using it with Davinci Resolve, there is no delay and works perfectly, so it's not a hardware issue.
