Intensity Shuttle USB in Linux

Just built a new Kubuntu 18.04 LTS system, installed Desktop Video and Resolve.

I can't get the OS to see the intensity shuttle. The firmware check application runs and says the firmware is up to date, even if the shuttle is not connected.

Desktop Video setup runs and says no device found.

Hardware works as I dual boot into windows 7 and it works fine there.

I don't think there are Linux USB drivers for the Intensity Shuttle.

The specs do list Linux support for the Thunderbolt version. I thought of trying it with a laptop with a Thunderbolt 3 port. Anyone know if this could work?

Thanks
