Intensity Pro 4K @ Premiere Playback FPS Problem

PostThu Feb 21, 2019 10:31 am

Hi,
I have a connected dell monitor for preview at premiere - in the playback settings I chose blackmagic intensity pro 4.
Why the monitor not displaying the preview when i'm working on the 25fps sequence? However, the monitor displays the preview only when i'm working on a 60fps sequence. At 25fps, a message on my monitor is: "Not supported format, please choose 1920x1080 @ 60Hz".
When i choose Scale up, or scale down in playback blagmagic settings i have the same problem on 25fps sequence. I use only 1920x1080/25fps files from my Nikon, so i don't want to mount on 60fps sequence.

Best regards.

What is your monitor?
Most PC monitors don't support 25p signals. Only better ones do.

I've already checked HP Z24NFG2, AOC I2281FWH and some old monitor from DELL and Samsung, but each of them doesn't show the 25fps sequence, only 60.
Which monitor i need to use to work on 25fps sequence?

Check monitor spec- in most cases it says there. You need to see something like this:
DisplayPort, DVI: 26 - 78 kHz, 23 - 63 Hz
HDMI: 15 - 78 kHz, 24 - 61 Hz

You can see that this monitor (Eizo) supports any refresh rate between 23-63Hz. This is typical for monitor which is "video signals friendly". Some monitors may support video signal over HDMI, but not over DP, so better to use HDMI.

Most monitors will say eg 60Hz or 59-61Hz etc. In most case they lack support for anything <50Hz.
You need higher-end monitor, not cheap ones.
Midd range Dells and up ( eg. U2415 ) should support video signals over HDMIl, including 25p, 24p etc.

Mentioned monitors are rather cheap models for PCs. Not a good choice for video needs. Very unlikely they will work. At this price level you need to specifically look for support for things like 25p.

I have a Dell 27 P2715Q 4K - IPS with Intensity Pro 4K card - it works fine with 25 fps!

Host software doesn't relay matter in this case.
