Intensity Pro 4K not working under CentOS.

PostSun Feb 24, 2019 9:03 am

I just purchased the Intensity Pro 4K to get full monitor playback on my editing workstation. I want to work on Linux, I'm coming from the mac and i really don't like windows. I'm hoping to get some help because I'm unable to get things working.

Below the steps I took:

Installed the latest version of CentOS 7.

Installed Nvidia drivers + resolve. All works fine.

The Intensity Pro 4K works under windows but not Linux.

It appears the driver is not loading... I think..

steps I followed:

Code: Select all
# sudo yum install --nogpgcheck desktopvideo-*.rpm

# sudo yum install --nogpgcheck desktopvideo-*.rpm \
           mediaexpress-*.rpm

Things installed fine, no issues.

Code: Select all
# lspci | grep Blackmagic
04:00.0 Multimedia video controller: Blackmagic Design Intensity Pro 4K

The hardware is detected, great!

Code: Select all
# lsmod | grep blackmagic
-- NO OUTPUT-- (nothing appears)

But driver does not seem to load?

Code: Select all
 dkms status -m blackmagic[-io] -k `uname -r`
-- NO OUTPUT-- (nothing appears)

Any ideas what to try next? The manual says something about kernel source/headers?

Thanks!
Karel.
