Terenex Mini SDi to HDMI Fan noise

PostThu Mar 28, 2019 7:12 am

Hi, I own 3x Terenex mini SDI to HDMI and use them as LUT boxes for LG OLEDs. got my 3rd one last week and its been very noisy. the older ones are ok. the new one the fan spins very fast and loud and then it all goes quite for a while, and then it starts again. its quite annoying. I am on 6.1.1 version on windows. How can i fix this up? is there a firmware update for this? if so how do i install firmware?

thanks

The new firmware does this. I see this on the big teranex units also.. It is how they implemented the cooling setup..

But one might be making more noise after a while as fans wear out.. And they are not the best of the best fans they used.. So they will become noisier over time.

How can i roll back to an older firmware? by just installing the older teranex software while connected to the usb port??

Just install an older version of the teranex software.

Plug in the device and the software will say it needs to "Update" the device. ;)

Update.

managed to update firmware. but only via LAN cable. over wifi didnt work.

4.7 update - fan keep spinning nonstop. no up and down.

5.0.1 update: fan goes back to up and down.

Crazy that you even try to update by wifi. What if your wifi did go down or packets were lost.. You could have killed your teranex
