Transferring Data from URSA Mini Pro 4.6K G2 to MacBook

PostSat Apr 27, 2019 11:38 pm

Hello Forum!
I am investing in the Blackmagic Ursa Mini Pro 4.6K G2 for my media company and I am looking for recommendations around the basic equipment to accomplish the data transfer between the camera and a laptop. I am not very familiar with this process that happens after the filming is done when you're moving that video data to your computer and so I've done some research and this is my plan:

SSD Recorder
SSD Cards 2.5"
SSD Card adapter for connection to laptop

Is there anything I am missing?
I assume my MacBook Pro (2015) is up for the task, but in case there are any red flags, i.e. Graphics Card, here are the specs:

2.5 GHz Intel Core i7
16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB

I also understand:
Blackmagic SSD Recorder only uses 1 drive, max out 4.6 raw 30 fps. I am intending to shoot 60fps. Is there a recommendation around other solutions to accomplish this?

I would use a cheap adapter to transfer to my computer, I've seen these online for around $20. i.e. USB 3.0 to SATA Converter Adapter for 2.5/3.5 inch Hard Drive Disk SSD HDD ...to connect to my MacBook Pro.

I have Premiere Pro for the editing, but I'll probably get Final Cut Pro X to keep it in the Applesphere.

Any friendly recommendations or advise at this stage is a huge help!

Ciao from the Windy City
Justin
