Recreating a custom output blank inside DR15

PostThu Aug 22, 2019 12:30 am

My client created a custom output blank inside Premiere by lopping off 3% of the top and bottom of the frame.
I am trying to emulate this same aspect ratio inside DR15.
I tried using output blanking but it does not seem to allow for custom sizes so I fiddled with the Inspector in DR15 until I was satisfied with the result.
That said, I have apparently made color changes inside the Color Tab such that the jet black output blanks on the top and bottom of the frame are now deep blue.
Please see attached.
Any insights into how to overcome this would be appreciated.

Use the Output Blanking controls on the Colour Page. You can save presets too!

Peter, how do you create a custom output blank inside DR? I need to try and match the aspect ratio the client selected inside Premiere. It is very close to 1.85. Probably 1.95 or so if I had to guess. In any case, when I use output blanking inside DR, no color changes affect the the area of the frame that is covered by the output blanking, and by using the Inspector and using Cropping tool (top and bottom, 28 units), the cropped out area is changing color; please see attached.
Alternatively, how can I keep the black border I created inside the Inspector from being affected from my color changes?

Use the Output Blanking controls in the COLOR PAGE. Check the User Manual for details.
