Editing 6K BRAW on MacBook Pro with EGPU or Upgrade Machine

Hello - First time poster, long time lurker here.

Have recently added the Pocket6K and have shot a short (3-5Min) project for a client (BRAW 8:1). As I'm viewing and logging the footage (In Resolve) I'm getting some pretty significant stuttering (which doesn't bode well for my edit thats due in 2 weeks.) Until now I've had no problem cutting my Pocket4K BRAW footage. Fearful my machine is underpowered to push the 6K footage around and need to make a quick decision about how to approach a solution. I'd prefer not to go the proxy route. So do I add an EGPU (if so, which one)? Or, bite the bullet and upgrade my machine?

Current Configuration: MacBook Pro 3.1GHz Intel Core i7; 16GB RAM, Radeon Pro 560 4 GB video card.

I believe that this is the same card that is in the base EGPU? So is the EGPU Pro a legit step up or an expensive stop-gap?

No, even the base eGPU has a better card, the Radeon 580 with 8 GB VRAM.
That said, your MBP may still be challenged by 6K, in particular if you want 50 or 60 fps.
