Atomos MasterCaddy II and BMD Multidock?

I need to ingest multiple Atomos Shogun drives simultaneously for a multicam project and would prefer having a rack mounted reader for that. Does anyone know if the Multidock can fit the MasterCaddy II enclosures or if the thickness is too much?

No it won't The mastercaddy's are bigger then the SSD's inside them. While the Multidock fits the SSD's tight fit. ;)

Remove the caddy's around the drives and it will fit.

Yeah, "shucking" is a pain, especially because we have to match up the cases back to the drives. Thinking maybe we 3D print some soft cases that can have a window for labels to show through and can be easily shucked without tools.

We actually 3D print Sata dockings for the Mastercaddy. Kind of floppydrive style into a Computer, But then with MasterCaddy slot.

Sata is much faster then USB 3, Not sure how to compare against TB

So like a 3.5" hotswap kit and 3D print an insert for that to line up the Master Caddy?

Build this into a 3D printed housing that fits your 3,5" slot in your PC. ;)

The reason i say PC, instead of laptop / macbook is that because a PC tower you can build a stack of harddrives, and connect this directly to the SATA controller. Which means you have the full bandwidth / speed available from drive to drive.

Check that your Sata controller allows hotswap, but most of them do. :) eSata is hotswap too. Which often connects to the same controller.

Oh, right. That's more universal anyway. Thanks for the tip.
