Crashing In Fairlight 14B5 Studio

PostTue Jul 18, 2017 9:32 pm

Hey Folks,

I did a search and did not see this discussed. Computer is:

Late 2013 MacBook Pro w/16GB RAM, 1 TB SSD, NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 2048 MB, Avid DNxIO(like Ultrastudio 4K Extreme but with tweaks for Avid), and external Eizo CX271 monitor running off HDMI from the DNxIO. OS is 10.12.5 .

When I start adding effects or otherwise manipulating the audio or playing it back the computer hangs and I have to restart. Using a vid with 8 audio tracks and all but one track muted.

Anybody else having this issue?

Thanks,
Robert

My opinion is that Latops are not ideal for Resolve. There are a handful of very, very powerful and sophisticated laptops with dual 1080 GPUs that can handle Resolve to a point. I'm not convinced Apple has made a decent laptop in years, especially for power users. (All IMHO.)
