It seems that titles and generators can only be added to the timeline by dragging and dropping. The Edit menu commands and keyboard shortcuts don't seem to work.
For example, if I want to add a title and have selected Effects Library... Toolbox.. Titles... Text, selecting Edit... Place on Top or F12 does nothing.
I realize that those commands probably assume something is loaded into the Source Monitor. But if I drag the title or generator over to the Timeline Monitor, the overlays with the different choices like Insert, Overwrite, Place on Top, etc. appear and seem to work. So Resolve does understand the concept of using those commands with titles and generators.
