CPU 90% usage and GPU is sitting on 8%

PostFri Apr 26, 2019 7:47 pm

Hi my name is Miwa,

i am from germany so my english might be not that good. Back to the problem.

My Setup is:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 1060 6gb - Chipset :106 (is able to render the h.265 in 8bit)
RAM: 16 GB DDR4 - 2133MHz
3 Screens
2 HDD´s

So it´s my first time using DaVinci Resolve, the videos i do are for YouTube for fun.
But while rendering a video i noticed that my CPU is constanly sitting on 90-100% load while the GPU is barely hitting the 10% load mark...

And another thing i noticed that i can´t use my GPU for rendering, when i render with MovieMaker from Windows 10 64Bit, everything is fine and both GPU and CPU are sharing the same load amount, arround 50-60%.

I am using:
DaVinci Resolve 16 public beta version 16.0.0B.017

I will include 2 pics, that show my system and DaVinci Resolve Debug:

Here is what i am missing, its the NVIDIA encoder .... why i don´t know

here are my Video render Settings

DaVinci Resolve 16 Debug zip

I´d be greatfull, if someone can help me.

Thx

Hardware accelerated encoding is only supported on the Studio version. You're running the free version of DaVinci Resolve.

Please check this summary for the differences between Studio and free versions: viewtopic.php?f=21&t=90190#1

A more detailed comparison guide is also linked in the same section.

You should also check your NVidia driver version.

On the Windows Desktop, right-click and select NVIDIA Control Panel from the popup.
In NVIDIA Control Panel, select Help --> System Information. In the panel that shows up, look for the value for "Driver Version:". I currently have 419.67. Resolve does not work with much older versions.

Also when you update your NVIDIA drivers, it offers the option for a Gaming Driver Vs a Content Creator Driver. Select the Content Creator version.
