Choppy playback even with optimized media

PostTue Jun 04, 2019 5:40 pm

Hi,

I am new to Resolve and I am loving it every day a little more.
I started with R16B3 and cut a few little videos (5-10 minutes), which are all in the same project file.
Mostly Hero7 4k files. I generated optimized media for all files (DNxHR LB ) and the cutting of the projects went really well. Today I wanted to fine-tune the cuts and suddenly the whole playback is choppy like hell.

The only thing I did was to copy the timeline to a new timeline within the same project. I even regenerated optimized data again for all the files (but that took only a few seconds - so it seems that the DNxHR LB File are still there and recognized).

The original files are all on an SSD and the optimized media files are on in a 2TB Samsung NVME SSD.
I have a 8GB 1070 Geforce (newest driver 430.86) and an INTEL 8700K processor with 32GB on RAM.

I even tried playback in half resolution, but nothing seems to work.

Perhaps the project file is too big or need to be optimized as well (I don't know if that is even an option).

Project file size: 141 GB
Timeline size : 11,27 GB

Could my problems just be related to to the fact, that R16 is still in beta?
Or is my PC not powerful enough to handle that kind of load?

Any suggestions are more than welcome.
Thanks and bye
