Bugs. Timeline is freezing on Linux. Video drag and drop....

PostSat Jun 08, 2019 10:39 am

There are a couple of major bugs in ver 16, still persisting on release 16.0.0B.32 (16.4).

Video drag & drop stops working randomly.
I couldn't observe any pattern, this can happen on the 1st minute or it can happen 10 or 20 mins later. If I am using the application (not opened the app and doing something else), I am pretty sure it will happen within 30 mins, the only way to fix this is to restart the Davinci Resolve. Closing the project not going to help.

Timeline freezes randomly.
This is less frequent than video drag and drop issue. During this time, you won't see the playhead moving or any part of the timeline moving but the shortcut keys will work. For example, if I tap the space bar, the video starts to play but nothing will move on timeline. If I drag the playhead, the video will move on the monitor but nothing will change on the timeline. I think I can resolve this by maximizing or minimizing the "Inspector" section.

GPU memory full error. I'll update about this later as I forgot when that happened.

I tested this on CenOS 7.6, Linux Mint 19.2, Arch (vanilla version with Gnome 3.2 and on latest Manjaro).

Hardware: Dual Xeon E5-2660, 64GB RAM, Nvidia GTX 1060 6GB

If anyone wanted to see this in action, I can make a video to show what I mean. Let me know.
