Audio Waveform Shifting Under Playhead

PostTue Sep 03, 2019 11:03 pm

16.1 Beta 2 (Standard Version) Windows 10:

In the Edit page, if you place the playhead on a spike at the left-hand side of the timeline then scroll the timeline so the playhead is at the right-hand side, the waveform shifts its position relative the the playhead. If you scroll back and forth, you can see the waveform shifting. This is also apparent with the audio itself. On the left the waveform matches the playhead, audio, and video. When the playhead reaches the right-hand side, the audio still matches the playhead and video, but the waveform is off.

As a test, is there a way to delete the waveform files and have Resolve re-create them?

Yeah, I'm seeing this here as well.

Studio 16.1b2 for Windows 10 Pro (1903).
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

I don't have the waveform move, but if I add an audio track with, in this case, the final mix, the original timeline and mix waveforms are not together, the added track being ahead. The audio is in sync, however. Zoom in and the waveforms are together. It only happens on the edit page and looks like a scaling issue with the waveform display. This pic shows the same playhead position fully zoomed out on the left and zoomed in on the right.

16.1 Beta 3 (standard) still has the waveform shifting problem. See attached.

Playhead at left side of timeline with a peak to the left of it. Scroll timeline so playhead is at the right side of the timeline. Waveform shifts to the right so now showing the peak at the right of the playhead.

Video, audio, waveform are all in sync when scrubbing on the left side of the timeline. Scrubbing on the right side of the timeline, video and audio are in sync, but waveform is not.
