Multicam should keep clip colors, bug with crop angles

PostThu Mar 07, 2024 8:55 am

Hi,
there are two issues/bugs I'd love to see in the next release:

1) when iI open my multicam in timeline, then color-code the clips, I'd like to see those colors also on the main timeline, where I do my multicam cuts...

2) I use 3 bmpcc4k and a bmpcc6k on the wide angle, so that I can crop and create two extra angles in 4k out of the 6k video in addition.
So my multicam clip had initially 4 angles, but I added two more with the crops.
As a bug, these crops are not shown in the multicam cam previews, but always the full 6k video... the remedy is to "render in place" those modified angles, but this is an extra step in between, that costs time and disk space...

any thoughts?

greets
Mike

Hi everybody,
wanted to keep you posted, that those issues also exist in DR19b1, maybe this would be nice to be tackled...

when you transform a video clip in a multicam angle (eg. zoom, rotate, ...), it's not reflected to the timeline, where the multicam clip is used and finally shown.
The only thing that helps is either "render in place" or "smart caching" the multicam video angle inside the multicam. Now it's shown correctly to the outside. (please note, that currently it seems that smart caching doesnt automatically start caching in the background, see viewtopic.php?f=38&t=200378)

the other thing that would be great is clip colors from multicam being propagated into the above timeline, so you easily see which angle you have selected...

what do you guys think?

regards
Mike
