"Conform lock with media pool clip" for multiple clips

PostThu Aug 08, 2019 9:45 pm

"Conform lock with media pool clip" for multiple clips at the same time in the timeline would be a time killer.

You should be able to select unlimited clips already and perform the operation, am I missing something?

You can indeed select multiple clips in the timeline but the operation won't work. You have to do it one clip at a time…

Is there any other way around not having to conform one file at a time? Of is this still a "request"?

unlock the clips
re-conform from bin

that should work

Thanks Walter, but I must be missing something. Here's the general walk through just so I'm not missing a step somewhere.

1. Export and edit to EXR files via deliver page that have been denoised from the Color Page, with each shot into it's own folder location.

2. If you use "remote" rendering. You can't go back to the original timeline after it's been rendered to export an XML that will link to the newly created media. This is also the case in the event of a crash, or if you open a new timeline or project after render.

3.Export desnoised timeline as XML from the edit page.

4. Import XML timeline, now links to the original footage, not the newly rendered files.

5. Import the EXR files into a single folder via the media tab

6. Turn off "conform lock enabled" in the XML timeline

7. All the files now have a red exclamation mark, when double clicking each one, it finds the newly rendered EXR file, but to reconnect them, this has to be done individually to every shot on the timeline

8. If I select multiple clips, "conform lock with media pool clip" is not available

9. Is there a way to force reconnect all of the red exclamation marked clips to the newly created EXR files as a batch?

Edit: well I feel stupid, but glad I re-read what I wrote and what Walter wrote. "reconnect from bins" is not a right click option. File/Reconnect From Bins, does work as suggested. Thanks Walter for the help!

I'm having this same issue with an EDL Preconform workflow on a flattened ProRes export. This used to work flawlessly, but for some reason today, my EDL preconform is not linking to the imported ProRes file, and the only way to link everything is to Force Conform each shot in the timeline one by one. I tried doing a Reconform from Bins/Media Storage, but it didn't work for some reason.

It would also be nice if you could select multiple timelines in a bin, and remove Conform Lock's for all of the clips in the selected timelines in one fell swoop.
