Presentation software?

PostTue Apr 21, 2015 11:59 am

hi folks
Can any well informed colleague on here tell me which presentation software will work with our Declink Studio Card on an Apple Mac
We need to run something like Keynote or Powerpoint through the Decklink to a projector
Many thanks

Hi Thomas
I lnow they don't output the Desktop, that's not what I'm looking for
We can get pictures from Final Cut Pro and Media Express etc. but what we need is a a suitable Predaentation software like Keynote or Powerpoint etc. to input from the Decklink into the Atem 1 Switcher and Broadcast Panel to feed to the projector
Thanks

ProPresenter can do it with their SDI module ($99).

We use a 2011 MacPro and ProPressnter 5 with The SDI module. Works like a charm.

just as a quick fyi

a limitation of pro presenter is that your output via sdi must be same size or smaller than your control monitor.

so for example you have a mac mini and you have a desktop resolution of 1600x1200 you would not be able to do a 1080i/p output from pro presenter via the sdi module you could do 720p

this was not at all laid out in their spec's when we went down this route and very frustrating when we figured it out only for them to confirm and wonder why we would be so dumb ?!? haha

I ran into the same thing. Ended up not using the MiniMonitor and instead using a $30 Thunderbolt-HDMI converter. That thing acts as its own display and can be configured to 1080i/p -- problem solved. Just went HDMI right into the switcher.

Anton,

Mine is made by Dynex. Sorry, I don't have a model number. It was something I already had around. I've seen them as cheap as $10 on Amazon.

I use HDMI to SDI converters with scaling. Works flawless with my PC:s and MAC Mini for PowerPoint
or Keynote. Connected to my 2ME Prod Studio 4K via SDI, I can mix with cameras, discrecorders, slomo etc. to projectors.

For connecting to projectors I use the AJA HDP2.

I bought them from a Swedish compact called JMC Systems Engineering, Scott.
They cost around 200€.
