Auto Switching on ATEM Television Studio HD

PostTue Nov 21, 2017 12:02 am

Hello --
Is it possible to set up the ATEM Television Studio HD to automatically do a rotating switch between all connected cameras, at a predetermined length of time, like 7 seconds? If so, is it something that can be pre-programmed, so that non-video people can set it into motion?

I realize this would be seriously under-using the capabilities of this switcher, but this feature would be helpful in certain instances.
Thanks!

This can be easily done with JustMacros.

Also check out built in Macros in ATEM software.

Or build a Macro function that does that. But you have to retrigger that macro again and again..
Would be nice if you could trigger an other macro from the macro.. This way you could have 2 loops that trigger each other..

Hello Grant. This is easily done in the ATEM with one macro. Turn the Loop function on and it will run until you stop it.

both suggesting a weak solution!

No ability, whilst live, to turn off particular sources that for example "go offline" whilst the cycling is active.
No ability to select sources based on activity, e.g. Is there audio present on the feed?
No ability to change sequence without having sets of macros to swap between.
No ability to run any other macros whilst the loop is running.

Want more........??????

Thanks Gary,

I don't yet own the ATEM Television Studio HD. Can the Macro / Loop function you describe be activated on the unit itself, or will it always need to be connected to a computer?

I meant to do this post in the "Getting Started" portion of the forum. If you think it's better there, it could be moved.

Thanks again,
Grant

Sorry, there is no way to run a macro from the front panel or menu of the TVS HD.
At a minimum you will need an Arduino with Ethernet and some custom code with a button to run a macro.
Some (expensive) 3rd party hardware options are available (based on Arduino type hardware) exist.
I use a cheap touch PC (PiPo 8 or 9) with some free software to launch macros (also runs my camera rotation script which I can control from my phone by sending Telegram commands to a bot ;-)

You just need to use this trick to install the switcher software on the PiPo
