Powerzoom Control

PostThu Aug 09, 2018 3:44 pm

I'm getting the Blackmagic Micro Studio Camera 4K with a PANASONIC G X VARIO PZ 14-42mm/F3.5-5.6 powerzoom lens.

Can i control the zoon, from a ATEM Television Studio Pro 4K?

Hello Jonathan. Yes the ATEM will control that lens.

Is there any solution yet to a lens for these cameras that won't lose focus every time we change the zoom?

There are lots of good zooms that are parfocal. How much money do you want to spend? If you want full zoom Servo and parfocal, yiu are looking at using either expensive Cine zooms like the Canon or Fuji, starting at $10K and up, or a used HD B4 Zoom, which can be adapted to the Micro Studio with the MTF Services Pocket Camera MFT B-4 adapter ($1500), plus a good B4 2/3rds Zoom from either Canon or Fuji, yiu are looking at $900 to $3K for a good used one. See the Micro Studio Camera manual and the B4 lens adapter, that connects the lens control to the camera for ATEM control.

Thanks Jack/Denny. My issue is size. The camera is currently mounted on a PTZ head so I think adding a B4 lens and adaptor is going to be too big and heavy.
