Output 8 different sources via Decklink quad 2?

PostFri Oct 11, 2019 2:40 am

Hi there I'm new here.
I have a question as the title said.
I have a decklink quad 2, and I need to output 8 different videos via the card.
I have tried softwares like OBS or vMix. While OBS only allows to choose just 1 port to output its PGM, vMix allows 2 external output via the quad 2.
However I want to output more, so can anyone tell me a software to use, or a way to do it? Prefeable in linux, but a windows software is fine.
Thanks

medialooks.com have a solution that can run independent outs over multiple cards.

I've used their software outputting a couple seperate playlist loops to a couple differing destinations playing out over BM decklink cards. If your going to want support for 8independant outs your PC specs will need to be capable of handling such a load.

I theory, there's no reason why you couldn't do this with CasparCG. It will also run on Linux.

Concur with the previous answer, just make sure you have a beefy host computer to playback eight videos concurrently. Depending on resolution and codec, requirements would vary.

Are those sources and destinations static? That makes sense and a pretty cool way to get it done.

I take it that the OPs dilemma is that there is a need for dynamic playback of 8 video sources, from a file or some sort. Maybe even controllable, in an manner that doesn't require command line experience.

CasparCG is the software with the easiest "GUI" for this job. Configure it correctly for 8 channels in the config file or use the CasparCG Frontend GUI separately, and send things to the 8 different channels using the Client
