HDMI/SDI converter trouble

PostThu Oct 24, 2019 7:13 pm

Hey guys, I'm hoping this has a simple solution. I'm trying to build a simple setup so my university can stream soccer games. I have a Canon camcorder with HDMI output, and I put that into an HDMI-SDI converter. I then plugged a 100ft SDI cable into it, and on the other end, I plugged it back into another converter (an UltraStudio Mini Converter to be exact). It has a thunderbolt cable that plugs into my Mac, and from there it should be able to pick up the camera feed in Production Truck (our streaming software). When I click on the SDI input, the camera feed doesn't show up. Any suggestions?

Your Canon camera sends out 1080P50/60 on it's HDMI. The HDMI > SDI converter will handle this. But your UltraStudio Mini only goes up to 1080I50/60 Progressive is twice as much data. ;)

Check the output settings of the camera to set it to 1080i or 720P
